
As of July 2009, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has joined the membership of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM); a step that aims to enhance RTA corporate excellence drive at all fronts. CEO of RTA's Strategy & Corporate Governance Sector Abdul Mohsin Ibrahim Younes said: "Joining the EFQM membership provides members with access to a wide-ranging knowledge base of the organization resources in all fields of corporate excellence".
He added: "RTA, likewise other member organizations across the world, can gain practical benefits from such knowledge base through conducting comparative studies to set the benchmarks and knowledge quality standards. Membership of the EFQM also helps in showcasing RTA efforts to gain excellence worldwide.
"RTA can benefit from sharing success stories contributed by various members to build the knowledge base of the EFQM, which could be materialized through attending conferences and seminars held by the organization. Members exchange their expertise with the aim of setting the highest standards in the field of corporate excellence.
“The EFQM, which is based at Brussels in Belgium, is Europe's prestigious quality management organization that boasts experience in excess of 20 years and membership of more than 600 members across the globe. The organization assists members in sharing their management models, expertise and best practices through building a solid and wide-ranging knowledge base" added Younes in a final remark.
