Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has received the trophy of the 3rd UAE Youth Forum 2009 presented by a delegation of Youth Centers Dep't at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, Sharjah in recognition of RTA patronage of the Forum and its role in furthering the national identity among youth.
The Director of Marketing & Corporate Communication Dep't at RTA Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector Peyman Younes Parham who received the trophy said: "RTA patronage of the forum comes in the context of RTA continuous efforts to boost communication and build sound partnerships with government and non-government organizations in the interest of the community and the whole nation".
Peyman added: "RTA provided a modern and comfortable bus to take the participants in a tour of some heritage, archaeological and cultural landmarks of the emirate of Dubai, and a water bus cruise was arranged to entertain and orient them with the landmarks of Dubai Creek.
"The itinerary of the Forum comprised several events designed to enhance the national identity among youth, including visits to various UAE locations to give the youth further exposure to the diverse features of the UAE heritage, as well as the cultural and archeological icons. The program was well tailored to include various spots aimed at instilling the sense of belonging and loyalty to the nation among the youth".
The Forum, which was organized during the period 08-11 June 2009 under the theme: Youth for the Nation", attracted participation of more than 40 youths from all emirates, and witnessed a host of cultural, sports and recreational events staged across the UAE.
A delegation comprising the heads of Youth Centers at Sharjah visited RTA Head Office at Umm Ramool to award the trophy of the forum. Delegation members included the Head of Youth Centers Affairs Section Adel Amir Salim, and the Head of Cultural Activities Unit Ahmed Shaheen Al Hosani, in addition to two students and a photographer from the Supreme Council for Family Affairs.
